Fished from late morning to early eve. Overcast and in the fifties; water was clear, but high and 50 degrees when I checked. Went below the heritage stretch determined to try new water. I wanted to catch some brookies and some stream bred fish. The fish didn't seem to be on a tear, but I manages to catch a few brookies, several rainbows (one had parr markings and was either stream bred or a fingerling escapee) and some nice local browns as well. The largest stream bred fish was a foot long, but sadly I foul hooked him on my dropper. There was a brief hatch olives or similar around four. Rose three and caught one, a little local brown, and my first fish on top this year. (Obviously I'm not fishing enough!) I'm going to have to check back on this stretch when the Sulphers are on. It was fun, and the bait slingers were surprisingly cordial.
