Water clear and low.
Some takes on the surface. Probably midges, but not confirmed.
Air temp - 32
Fished 130-330PM
Fishing pressure, saw 8 others fishing, and about another 8 leaving. (I believe they were from Montg. TU
Did not see anyone wading in the FKA Heritage Section.
Hooked 7, landed 6.
Fish took size 18 black brassies with little white wings.

I was going to say something like that, but ... I was not wanting to "heat up" anything. It is interesting to note, although I did see quite a few people there no one was in that section. But was a pair of guys two pools below the bridge.

Ironically, I have only fished the "heritage section" once before because of the wading restriction. Today I fished it but did not wade. Because I didn't know until I read the previous report on LL tonight.

Great report! Looks like you had a great time in only a couple of hours of fishing. Midge patterns always seem to be the ticket on that stretch.

Hi Steve,
I was there yesterday but the fishing was slow, caught one but I didn't use small flies, that was my mistake, and didn't use 6x tippet.

Did check water temp 40 degrees.

I was there today, and got skunked. I am VERY new to fly fishing, I hooked into 2 fish under the bridge right infront of the LL fly shop hours after I bought my fly rod. I was on my way home from cabelas and stopped to fish. I lost both fish because at the time i didn't know how to fight a fish. But Is 5X tippet to big? And if anyone wants to meet up there and helpa newbie out a little let me know!

5X is a big much for that stream now is is clear and low. Max of 6X and use small flies!

Meh. There are a LOT of people who will say that there is never a need to drop below 5x when fishing subsurface. You are a new fly fisherman on a stream that is not very forgiving to newbies and you hooked two. You were doing something right.

I was there on Sunday and fished with 4x and 5x on my dropper. I caught fish on both flies so 6x is not necessary. And my flies were #14's and #16's. So you do not have to go small either.

I fished right at the hole where the heron is in the pic above today and absolutely cleaned up. I lost count after 9 or so fish. Some 18+ inchers too. They were surfacing like crazy on small black midges in the film.
