Finny......you have you ever been around the Little Lehigh? If not if you'd like fish it I'd glady show you around if you promise to never go below 6x.

Btw for those that were wondering we got bored at the fly shop one day and found out that you can thread 0x orvis super strong through a size 24 orvis trico!

Next year I'm going to tape myself catching a fish in the Heritage section with a size 24 trico and 0x

Why next year? What's wrong with this weekend.

Ive made the mistake of using 7x when nymping, I was a rookie at the time. Sometimes I get a stupid streak and think I need it, usually Im on the LL and that water is gin clear. Everytime I do, I catch and lose a big fish. I have vowed to never use it again, only for trico and midge dryfly fishing. 6X is a all you ever need and most times, thats over kill.

New job and no time to fish!

When do you start? You up there tomorrow? I'm being hauled along to see my brother's band playing in the street up there, maybe I'll stop in?

I won't be stopping in.

What days you down here then, and are you solo or is your feckless leader in there with you?

I'll be there tomorrow night by myself!

Alpa...There is a saying among colorado guides....The best are separated by the ability to stuff 2x through a 24 trico hook...You're not far off...

PS orvis big eye hooks were my ticket to the elite club! they have a heavier wire too which keeps em from straightening out on big fish!...not that we have that problem in the LV however....

Who do you know that guides in CO? I need a connection out there!

I am planning to fish in LL this weekend the first time. Can anybody suggest a good starting spot ? I appreciate!

If you just wanna catch fish, Fish the kiddie pool in the heritage section, off of Cedar Crest blvd, you make a left or right (depending how youre coming) onto trout road or trout hatchery road. If you want to explore, fish anywhere else along the entire stream and you'll be okay (especially from there downstream)
