At the advice of a member of this board I tried a stretch today I have never fished; obviously out side the FFO. Weather was sunny and up to about 80 with a breeze. The water is still well above average with a slight cast. Started around 8:30 hoping to see tricos but only observed a few caddis, some midges, and a small swarm of what looked like paraleps close to noon. Two risers seen and I covered a lot of water. Fishing was pretty good; tough enough to make me work hard, but I was rewarded with some nice fish. The high point was when I got a faint tap at the end of a long drift and went right back and hooked and brought to hand a fat rainbow of about 14''. Disappointed, (looking for wild Browns) I repeated the drift and caught my best fish of the day, a stream bred Brown only slightly smaller than the previous trout. Anyway, reassuring to find fish in a number of locations mostly hidden in plain sight. The fast glides and riffle produced the best for me, but that is pretty typical.
Here's a few shots; I would guess I got fish from at least four year classes.
