Little Lehigh FFO (Macungie) - Lehigh County - 5/16/17

This is the first time I have fished this particular stretch of the LL, although I have stopped and peeked on a few occasions on the way to or from other streams. Today I had the time to stop, and I figured a small creek would fish well after the weekend's rain. I am right once in a while. Water was stained and 59 degrees. I only caught stocked rainbows, under 20 fish but over 15, I think. I have no clue if browns still swim in these parts??? I nymph most of the time, so besides a couple stops at wood looking for a BT, I high-sticked fast, shallow runs and had a lot of fun. Only saw one other angler mid-day. If nothing else, Lehigh County does Parks and Rec right. Pretty spot, even it is mostly a stocked fishery these days (?).

A couple small footballs in there, but the average was 13 and a couple were over 15 inches. A basic prince and a caddis pupae did the job. One or two swinging a soft hackle pt before I left for home.

I had the same result when I fished below the c&r section in April. The water was up then, and I caught a bunch of stockies and only hooked one wild fish that got off before I could land it. It was amazing how much harder the wild fish fought.

I helped stock that stretch a week or so ago and it was 100% RT,NO BROWNS.There are very few wild fish present as that stretch went dry during last summers drought.
