Little Lehigh Creek, Lehigh Co 5-30-10

Never fished here before. Awesome place, im sure ill be taking more trips up to the lehigh area to fish.

Wasnt sure of the hot spots, so i just fished behind the fly shop and picked up a few rainbows. Left my camera inside the car and was having to great of a time to go get it.

Also fished by the hatchery, some really nice rainbows with some nice color to them there.

Love fishing the Little Lehigh, I think I caught my first trout there around the age of 12. I also fell in the water at the fish hachery when I was around 8 in the middle of the winter.

Fished the water at the hatchery for an hour midday on Friday. Got a few on nymphs, including a nice 14" wild brown. After seeing a few rising fish and some taking swipes at my thingamabobber, I put on a griffiths gnat. Took two that were rising and lost a large brown after a 3 minute fight.

Not what I'd call a trout fishing experience, but definately a way to kill an hour between shopping with my gf...

Fished the Heritage section yesterday morning between 7-10 AM and fish were actually on tricos. I caught several with the 2 largest being 13"+. It was very buggy when I arrived with caddis, cranes, midges, and paraleps coming off/on. Then a small trico hatch began. I used 22-24 tricos on 6X. Did not want to go lower yet. Griffith's Gnat worked well before the actual fall.
