Two friends and I fished the Little Lehigh in Allentown on Saturday. Arrived around 10 am and started in the special regs section. Water was low and clear. Did not bother taking temp reading.
Saw a good number of trout and ten times as many suckers. Most of the trout weren't feeding and were just holding next to subsurface structure. In the first hour each of us landed a rainbow in 12"-14" range. One was caught on a #12 orange scud, one on a red san juan worm and one on a pink san juan worm all on 5x tippet. One friend also hooked into a 18"-20" sucker that hit a san juan worm.
Moved downstream into the open water for about 1 hour with no luck.
Returned to the special regs section and a sporatic midge hatch was in process. Several trout were now actively feeding on emergers and every now and then one would take on the surface. In an hours time we each caught several trout on an assortment of midge patterns in the 18 - 22 size range on 6x tippet.
