Fished the LL yesterday morning. Got there before first light so I couldn't see a dry fly. Decided to try an olive wollybugger with no success. Switched to a white crystal bugger and almost immediately caught a 14" rainbow out of the head of a run. That was it for the day. Water slightly stained and flowing well. I left about 11:00 and didn't see much of anything hatching except a few small (maybe #26 or #28) midges. Didn’t measure water temp but it seemed colder than the 60 the fly shop was reporting.
I did witness a good argument between a ff'er and a spinner fisherman over who’s territory was who's. I didn't see who started it or who was at fault but he spinner guy seemed to think no one should wade and that ff'ers should stay up in the ff only area. This could have gotten physical if they hadn't been on opposite sides of the stream. Interesting is that the ff'er was wading exactly where I caught the rainbow from three hours earlier and was in the correct spot to fish that current seam.
After the LL I stopped by the Saucon to check things out. The flow was up a bit and slightly stained. That nice green that highlights the deeper runs. Only saw a couple trout and since I didn’t bother to put on waders I couldn’t reach em. There was one of the largest trico (I think it was tricos but they looked like size 20 or slightly larger.) hatches I’ve seen this year. I'm gonna have to get a net to catch samples. Water temp was 54.
