Fished the Little J from the first trestle in Rothrock State Forest up to the second trestle with pretty good success. The J was down to a nice level but still running fast so had to be careful wading.
Caught a couple browns on a black sparkle pupa then after examining a couple of rocks found a good bit of small dark brown mayfly nymphs, March Browns I suspect and a couple of the tan sulphur nymphs. Switched to a size 14 beadhead pheasant tail and a size 14 tan sulphur nymph with a brown wing case. Immediately, hooked into four browns in the back channel where the first island is. Thought I had the killer fly for the day but things slowed down for awhile. Caught a few more during the course of the day. Finished with a nice size rainbow. All took the sulphur nymph.
Fished from 10:30am till 6pm. Tan caddis were coming off sporatically throughout the day with a few Grey Foxes, I think, mixed in here and there.
Saw a few fish raise in the pool just below the 2nd trestle. Thru a tan caddis at them but no luck.
Couldn't stay till dark this time but hopefully next trip.
