The little Juniata was significantly clearer than Spring. I fished the region above the quarry/junkyard before 458 goes back to running right along the side of the creek. Nymphing was tough. It was hard to find the feeding lanes that I could get a nymph through and the water was high enough that wading was pretty tough. It's tough on the little J. all the time anyhow. It's hard to maneuver its banks. After 2 on nymphs, I decided to wait out the hatch. The presence of spinners indicated that the hatch had proceeded more so than on Spring. Things didn't get going until after 8:30, probably due to the intense blue sky & bright sun of the day. Once it got going, the fishing was pretty fast. The hardest part was getting into position and not snagging the trees on the bank that I couldn't get far enough away from. Catching a lot of trout once I actually got my fly out and in the drift line was not a problem.
