Saturday the 29th, a buddy of mine and I went to try our luck on the Little Juniata above Spruce Creek. The day was nice and sunny but the breeze was chilly. Water temps were still a little chilly. Sporadic midge hatches were coming off the water all day, with a few fish feeding on the surface. I managed to catch 2 nice little browns in addition to missing many more on just about every type of subsurface fly I had. Particularly successfuly were my bead head midges with wire bodies. This section of stream has a variety of good water and is loaded with fish, making it worth stopping if anyone is in the area.
