I had a lovely summer morning on the Little J today. I left home about 5:30 AM and enjoyed the fog and the sunrise on the way there. Walking along the stream I believe I saw my first pair of river otters. Does anyone know for sure if otters are in the J? Later I saw a mink, so I know they weren't mink.

Stream temp seemed to be low 60s. There were sporadic rises as I was getting on the stream between 7:30 and 8. Steady rises during the trico spinner fall between about 8:30 and maybe 10. This was my first time fishing tricos. It was fun catching fish on these tiny little flies (22-24, honest Chaz there were some 22s). I broke a couple off because I'm not used to fishing 6X tippet anymore. As the morning progressed, I did pretty well with black ants. I left about 12:30. What a nice morning!

I usually post my photos on a site like photobucket and link to them. JackM wrote a little tutorial on how to include links Click Here

I've never been able to just upload a photo into a message, although I think its supposed to be possible.

I would direct you to This Link to learn how to put photos in your posts by uploading to this site's server. Using this method, the photo is at the end of the post.

In order to imbed the photo, you would need to have a link to the photo, which can then be enclosed by the HTML codes "img" inside bracket, followed by the url to the photo, followed by the "/img" code enclosed in brackets.

If you wanted to then imbed the photo, you would need to find it's url. In the example immediately above, you can click the attached photo and a new window opens with the full-size picture, then you copy the url from the browser address line and use the HTML code for images (as described above) to imbed it as follows:

Now I can type further and imbed a different picture here (I'll use the same one for simplicity):

Hopefully that all makes sense. Now, if you can be patient until photos are "admitted" in the photo section, you can submit the photos and then once they are admitted, find the url of the photo and use it to imbed the photos in your message board post. Another way to "find" the url for a photo is to right-click on the photo and select "properties" from the drop-down menu. This will open an info box where you can see the direct url of the photo. I'll show you what I mean below.

The first (attached) photo below is what you will see in Microsoft Internet Explorer if you right click a photo in the photo section of this site. The second is what you will see if you select "Properties."

When I reply to a message (or create a new topic) in the "stream reports" section, no "attach file" form is present. I can't upload a pic.

When I reply to a message (or create a new topic) in the "stream location" section, an "attach file" form is present. I can upload a pic.

Probably most of the other sections are like "stream location", but I haven't done the experiment yet.

Of course your privileges may be different as an admin.

Click on Reply at the bottom of the last post or reply at the bottom right of any post in the thread. Don't use the Fast Reply option, it does not allow attachments
