Overcast day to midday sun, stormy evening

Bugs: waterskippers, gnats
Water Clarity: ultra-clear
Water Depth: 1-4 feet
1600: Haven't been here in 15 years or so, so I drove back to the source creeks deep in the state game lands. Found some nice natural springs, fast flowing creek, and a couple small native trout fry.

Water Depth: 3-8 feet
1700: Decided to pop in at the Fishing Creek walk-in at Mill Race Golf Course. The 10th hole has been good to me lately, so I figured I'd press my luck with the creek that runs parallel to it. Fished an olive wooly bugger with sinking line for a little while with no luck.
1745: All of a sudden, the occasional Quill Gordon started skittering across the surface. No fish were rising.
"Oh, what the hell, might as well see how fast I can change spools and see if my flies actually float."
1800: Changed and ready. At least my fly actually floats like it should!
1802: On my second cast, I catch my first ever fly fishing trout!!
Pretty sure it was a stocked trout, but I don't care.
Fly used: my own Spring Quill, size 18 with green dubbing for a body. Not the proper color, but I don't think this fish cared too much as I was skittering it in on the surface.
1830: Dark clouds coming. Decide to quit while I'm ahead.
