Little Darby Creek Del Co. 5-19-2010

Air temp- 55-60 and cloudy
Water temp-56
Clarity-good
Hatches midges, caddis, and a couple of large Sulphers
Fished for a few hrs (2-5PM) after sitting with my wife during her maintenance chemo. My headache soon vanished as I hiked though some scenic water, that looked much better than it fished. Most of the deeper holes had trees or wood in them.

I might have chosen another creek, but this one was on the way home from the med center. Ended up picking away at them off Sawmill Rd, after getting booted out of my first spot. (The gate closes at 3) Tough going, but managed eight fish, and moved two nice ones out of the top pool. Decided to call it quits after taking a 14'' bow and a likely holdover brown. (16")

Home in plenty of time to cook the burgers!

Nice report! I live a few minutes away from this creek, but I don't fish it too often. I might stop over here for a bit this weekend now.

It has been 20 years since I have been to that creek, but what I saw at the time was a stream flowing through a well-maintained (read that: mowed lawn) park. Driving above the park I then recall a big pond/swimming club. I assume that the stretch that you showed in the pic is below the pool but above the mowed portion of the park. Is that correct? (I am asking this professionally, not as an angler who is going to be in that area to fish).

Mike I just saw your post; been away for a few days. Honestly, I don't no where the pool/club is. That potion of stream is just above Sawmill Rd., where there is a mowed park area. It is actually in another township park called Skunk Hollow. Sawmill runs between Rt. 252 and Darby Paoli Rd. and the bridge crosses near Darby/Paoli. Hope that helps.
