I fished from 9:45 - 10:30. In that 45 mintues in didnt take me long. The day is beautiful, the water is flowing and the trout are rising to brown caddis and black midges(size 20-24).

In the 45 minutes i fished i caught 7 all on top. Browns and bows. Mostly on the caddis. Saw one palomino and a few other fish. Still a few in there guys. have fun!:-D

I have only stopped there once. It was pretty crowed. What is it like weekend mornings.

I am going to guess that you are a Donegal TU member. If so, beautiful job. I brought up the information kiosk in out Tully TU meeting last Wednesday. It is a great place for the average person to find some education on trout fishing. We all need to contribute to that!

There's still fish in there? I thought they were all removed opening weekend!
Have been meaning to slip in for a short trip, turkey hunting/scouting has most of my time wrapped up the last week or so.
Will make it back to the stream soon though.

They are usually there a few weeks into the season. Even in years past a few fish would be well into the season. That part of Lititz Run is colder than the C&R area. It also has nicer and healthier batch of aquatic vegetation than the C&R area. Especially down into bantas property where you cant fish.

The main reason fish hold there easier is the absolute clumsy skill of the average angler that tries to fish a spring creek. They wear red, stand upright, move fast and get as close to the fish as they can. Then if by chance they catch some spooked fish...some people release them. Never give up on that stretch even into the winter. Ive caught wild bows in that section. :-D

love that brown by the way slay 🙂

Sal,

I'm surprised you fish the park. I know they've done a lot of habitat work there that holds fish, but it's such a small fishable area. As you said, much closer to the spring so the water certainly is colder, but that's gotta be a real treasure hunt seeking out fish in there.

Hope all's well! I haven't been out much lately and it's off to see the mouse in a few days...

Yep i fish the park now and again. needless to say i got outta work...its 5 mins away. What the heck ;-)

made it out to the riparian park on saturday afternoon (after the lawn was cut and a few more chores taken care of) Caught one on top.
Started out throwing a tan caddis that was too big and had many refusals. Searched around and found the smallest dry fly i own. Im not even sure what it was, but I think it was an ant. Hooked into the little brownie. Took a walk and enjoyed seeing all the little ducklings.
Made it out to the spring house Sunday night and had my best day on Lititz. Caught 5. 4 brownies and 1 big rainbow. Missed that many more while i was there. Lost a handful of buggers that were tied into the 6x tippet. reworked my leader and didn't have a problem after i tried them onto the thicker line.
Watched a red tail hawk devour a small rodent, saw a female mallard on her nest and made fun of the killer sheep from the opposite side of the stream. (he mirrored me the entire stretch and let out a few bellows that sounded worse than drunken sailor)

All in all, a good relaxing weekend.
