Jay will be freaked out how fast this report got up.

We got to the stream @ dark and waited till light @ seven. Stream flowing good and looks great. Temps are nice today and some surface activity.

Jay missed a nice fish on a articulated fly he tied. I caught one rainbow on a grizzly white stump buster jay tied. That fish was about 16-17 and real fat and bright.

I did manage one brown around 18-19 inches and fat as can be on a BWO sparkle dun.

All other fish laughed @ us :-D

Id like to add i got those leaders that have the plastic you put your fly line in & knot.......then the leader is attached to plastic and snaps in the other piece.

Thought id hate these things. Worked great and even held up to some real large fish. I might start using these things more.

haha we thought of using our camera phones but i got so many lititz run fish pics....i just figured screw it

Two things I never get sick of looking at - women and fish!

And Pope & Young's or Boone & Crockett 's.

Oh yeah,,,,I have your gloves and shirt in my car if your looking for them. Let me know maybe we can do that stream by my house this saterday?

Ya i remembered after i dropped you off. Wife leaving for scranton today. Hell maybe we can go fishing tomorrow morning. 🙂

Is there a way to make the 20 dollar donation online so I can fish there? Are those wild fish you are catching?

Sal

I would be interested in those leaders! Could you give me a name and maybe a pic of one?

Thanks

Do a search for Lititz Run Conservancy and you can find the information on their site...
http://www.millportconservancy.org/activities.htm

The fourth activity listed is the Donegal Chapter of TU

It is currently a $20 donation for the fishing badge as long as you are a member of either TU or the Conservancy ($30 Acorn membership fee)

At this point there is no online application form, but if you email or call Lynn she can fill you in on how to send in the check. I find email to be the best.

Sorry didnt see your question. Of course i can help you.

http://flyfishing.about.com/od/productreviews/fr/Leaders.htm

Be aware though:
Dislikes: The connector isn’t for fly fishing purists, who are veteran knot tiers and stay away from mending line to leader with plastics. Also, if you like to switch reels often, you might have to disconnect the leader before detaching the reel as the connector is often too large to pass through the guide at the end of the rod tip.

That was quoted from the product review. What i have found is it guides through my rod tip on my superfine just fine. Kind of acts like a shooting tip and also breaks out a small amount of winter ice in you guides.

I like them. Sure its not all fancy like tying knots the way it should be. But they sure have advantages.

Likes: Along with allowing anglers to switch out leaders quickly, these SA leaders are strong and cast smooth. The bright-colored connector (they’re color coded by tippet size) also keeps the line floating higher and can be used as a strike indicator.

You can switch leaders in a snap and they are very strong. held up to a very large lititz run trout 🙂 It does float high and does act like an indicator.

Let me know what you think .

I will add that is not the exact brand i bought. But its the same thing. I cant remember which kind i purchased and i no longer have the pack. I got them @ wal mart 🙂

Im going to give them a try, sure does look easy enough, and since Iam far from being a purist's that doesn't matter. I have to go to the Walmart in the next couple of days, I'll check them out, if they have any.

Thanks
PaulG

Ps, always enjoy your reports and the pics are great!

If not being a "purist" means more time wetting a line, I'm all for it! That's why I went with a furled leader :-D I'll have to give these things a peek though. I'm definitely sold on being able to rapidly change out a leader/tippet size with minimal fuss...
