Fished Linn Run with my daughter today for a couple of hours. Water was low but with some flow in the pockets and pools. Started out at the Adams Falls area by the playground. Both of us started getting bites immediately. We brought to hand a pretty little brookie of about 5-7 inches. We had several other bites in that area but couldn't land any more. Fished a couple other areas upstream but didn't have as much luck as at Adams. Go figure right! All in all it was a perfect day weatherwise and I was happy to help my daughter catch her first native brookie. Still working on the fish pic technique but I did teach her to always wet her hands first before handling the natives. Good day spent with my little tomboy!

Very cool that your daughter fishes with you. I've driven past Linn Run quite a few times but I've never stopped. Someday.

Brings back memories of fishing with my little girl who is not so little any more...

Turkey, your daughter will be ready before you know it.

I gotta find an old photo for this thread (OOPS WRONG THREAD), but in the meantime, I'll share this:

Gino was about 7 or 8 and I took him to Laurel Hill Creek at Barronvale. He fly fished for an hour or two then went to skipping stones and messing up my groove. I got angry and took him back to the car and started driving home. Did I mention I was angry?

He didn't care that I drove almost an hour to get there and was coming home early.

So, to punish him, I made him stop off at Rasler Run (hush!) because I wanted to. I had to drag him to the stream. First cast, I got about 9 inches of wild rainbow. I asked him if he wanted to go get his rod, and he did. We spent the next 2 hours catching several wild trout (rainbow and brook) and he never skipped rocks again.

Small wild trout streams are a decent place to take the youngins.

This is very precious little creek and on few occasions Linn brought me many little brilliant creatures.
The image:
I missed this little devil Brookie three times, than come back after new strategy, tied on “improved” #16 down wings Adams and took him on the first cast.
