LeTort Springs Run June 6 and 7

After several trips over the past two years to the LeTort, I finally popped my cherry last night. The sulphurs started coming off around 8:30pm and I caught 3 browns in about an hour. Lost one other in front of my fishing partner and another guy, that one was close to 14".
Went back tonight, nothing like driving an hour one way to fish for an hour. Got to the LeTort around 7:30 and just watched the creek until the sulphurs started coming off. The hatch was a little late tonight and I was only able to fish about 1/2 hour till it was to dark for me to be comfortable on the water. I caught and landed two fish, the second being close to 15".
All my fish were caught on parachute sulphur size 14.

John, from my limited experience with Letort, I have come to believe that the key to catching fish there is for them to tell you where they are and what they want for dinner. When this isn't the case, it will humble the most accomplished fly angler, not just amateurs like me.

Jack has it. But I would add the element of presenting what they want without them knowing you're there. That's the real hard part, it really men separates the men from the boys. I too still consider myself a "youngster" when I fish that stream - but I'm growing older all the time.

Catching a fish here is on my list (as is Falling Spring). I would have zero confidence in nymphing there so thinking Trico's or terristrials. That time is approaching soon.

Sulphur time is definitely the "easiest" time to catch fish on the LeTort. I probably will get skunked every time I visit here out.
I was very proud of my self when I hooked into the big fish last night, I snuck up on him until he was feeding upstream less then a rod length (and I was using my 7' bamboo) from me when I hooked him!
