Had a couple of hours to fish this morning from around 6:00-8:30. Air temp in the 70s, overcast with occasional drizzle. Moved a nice fish on a scud but it wouldn’t commit. Saw another big brown rooting in a weed bed which was really cool. It wasn’t interested in anything I was throwing at it.
Finally was able to drop a cricket near a riser. It turned from a few feet away when the fly hit, then it charged across stream and crushed it. Had to go in after it as there was about 15 feet of weed bed between me and the fish. Glad it didn’t go up past my armpits!
