This was my first time on this infamous stream. I started fishing about 8 AM in the heritage area. The air temp was in the high 30's then warmed up into the 50's . The stream was very clear. I kept very low and managed to hook up three times. The fish self released themselves before I could get a good look at them. Two were taken on a heavily weighted Fledermaus's and one was taken on a medium weighted Chuck's Sculpin.

I was using a Orvis 9 foot Battenkill bamboo rod made in 1950 which I recently acquired and was hardly used. I could not ask for a better set up. With this long rod I could role cast easily for approaches to the undercut banks.

I saw a few fish starting to spawn. I also had many fish chase an olive strymph. It was obvious these fish are starting to feed due to the cold weather.

Thanks again to everyone who made this a successful trip for me.
