Time Fished:
01:30- 05:00 PM

Weather:
Mostly cloudy with a light wind. Temperature was in the mid 40s throughout the day. A few moments of sun later in the afternoon.

Water Conditions:
The stream was elevated and chalky when I arrived. The upper reaches cleared throughout the day. I moved around the stream, and attempted to stay in the areas with a slight stain. The stream looked healthy with plenty of aquatic vegetation, especially for this time of year.

Hatches:
Nice clouds of midges (Size 24 and below). Very sparse olives (Size 18-20), I only saw about a dozen floating down throughout the day. I did not see any stoneflies on the water or banks.

Tactics/Results:
For the better part of the day, I fished small weighted streamers. I kept a low profile and worked downstream slowly. I would cast a small olive or black bugger ahead of my target run and let it dead drift into the stream channel or run, then dart it back up on the retrieve. It was very effective. I landed about a half dozen trout (8-14 inches). I had a few strikes nymphing as well, but it was not nearly efficient as the streamer approach. I saw two risers throughout the afternoon, but neither of them motivated me enough to put on a dry fly rig. I hope this gives some folks some motivation to hit the stream. Happy 2020 to everyone, and I look forward to many more fishing days like this!!!

I was there today, fished smallish streamers from around 7 to 1130. Got two nice fish at different sections, one was around 16, the other 18. Also got into some smaller ones.

Fished big spring most of yesterday and the very end of the day went to letort. Got some average sized brook trout in big spring and an average sized trout at letort. A buddy hooked a very nice fish at letort but lost it.

Got everything both days on smallish sparse muddlers.
