Had an hour or so to kill before I went to a family function yesterday afternoon so I stopped on the way and tried the Letort at Shady lane from noon ‘till one .

Thank you mister Shenk for your Letort Hopper pattern, it worked as advertised and enabled me to catch 4 of the “ village idiots”. Being an impatient idiot myself I managed to miss twice as many more. All wild (I believe) browns and none were over 10 inches. Still it was the best outing I ever had on the Letort.

Yup, they were wild. 4 in the middle of the day on Letort is a good day. Any time you leave Letort without getting skunked you should be happy.

The first time I ever fished the Letort for I caught 9 or 10 fish in a couple of hours fishing. I Had three fish in hand in the first 10 minutes, and one was a beautiful 20" brown along with a couple of other nice fish. I thought all the talk of how tough the fish are to catch there was just to keep fisherman off the stream.

On the next three trips to the Letort I got skunked. Now, most of the time, I can coax out a fish or two from there. But be thankful of the days when the fish gods smile upon you, and the fish are turned on at the Letort...it doesn't happen often, at least not for me.
