Made it up to the Jim Thorpe Area for a concert at Penns Peak Saturday but was able to convince the significant other to head up Friday and spend the weekend at the state park.

Was able to do some fishing Friday evening from a few miles above Glen Oko down to parking area. water was just starting to rise and I didn't take any notice to bugs or rising fish. I did catch a few decent fish that destroyed a big streamer. Saturday and Sunday the water seemed a bit high and rough. Still fishable IMO but without knowing this river well, I wasn't about to wade or fish it, got some great hiking in though.

After some of the things I saw there I will certainly be fishing this water more. Beautiful area for sure with some good fishing, impressive river.

I'd like to fish the Lehigh again, but wading that river would be suicide for me. I did love fishing that river.

spend the weekend at the state park.

Curious, did you guys camp at the state park? If so, which one?

No we stayed at a motel.

For those that want to fish this river but don't feel wading is safe, hire a guide. One of the guides on this forum (Nick) has posted several vids of that river.

Andy in all honesty, anyone that would have gotten in that river Saturday evening- Sunday would have been a fool, guide or not. At 4500-5500 ft/sec it looked dang dangerous. I believe outsider is older with a bad back/ hip/leg?

You are on point and a guide for new water is never a bad idea. I don't do it because I'll just comeback and learn the river over time.
For that area I highly recommend:

Ben is a great guide.

" I believe outsider is older with a bad back/ hip/leg? "

Yeah, but his elbow still works!

Hey, I resemble that statement!

Devon Allman Band and Rusted Root.

Seen Rusted Root a few times and while they were good, they didn't live up to the other shows. Devon Allman was lights out. His rhythm guitar player is as good as he is no doubt. Great Blues band.

I would go with Sky Blue Outfitters. it was my understanding Ben Turpin is not currently guiding.

Talked to Ben a couple days ago. He is still guiding. Just not full time anymore. He received a new job so will guide on his days off, and has another guy guiding for him. Both guys are great guys. Just gotta call and find out when he has an open day.
