Arrived at the Bowmanstown Boat Ramp just as the sun came up. This was only my second trip up to the Lehigh. Water level was low but perfect for wading in the boat ramp area. Air temps were in the mid 40's when I arrived and crept up to the 70's by the time I left at 1pm. Water temps according to my thermometer were around 44 degrees. Was a beautiful day to be on the water sun was out and the eaves are changing rapidly. Worked the fast water swinging buggers with no luck. Also tried to go dry/dropper with a deer hair ISO and bwo nymph. Managed one fish to net/hand with a soft hackle PT dead drifted to swing in the tailout bubble line. Nice 13-14 brown with fall colors. Fish were rising all over the back soft seam but it was almost impossible to reach them. Fished seemed really picky on the tiniest of olive emergers that they were sipping deep in the film. The rises were so subtle that it looked like a spinner take. I lengthened out my furled with stepped tippet down from 4x to 6x over 6ft and still didn't help. Saw about 4 other guys in the area fishing and only one guy land a fish. Was grateful my wife let me get a morning fishing session in on our anniversary. Next time I go up would love to meet up with someone that calls this their home river to help get the lay of the land better.

Why could you not reach them? You can cross the river there. Unless of course you're a little person aka Fredrick.

I'm definitely a little person. Stepped in up to my waist and was ice skating all over the place. I had my switch rod with me don't know why I didn't break it out and start bombing 100 footers

I was on the Lehigh a few miles south of White Haven on Friday. Only caught 3 chubs and 1 wild brown swinging and stripping buggers. Action was very slow where I was as well, 3 others out, no fish to report.

Were they rising below the point of the island?

Fredrick is a little man that carries a big stick...

I guess no one told you that I have been known to swim across rivers with my rod in my mouth. But for the most part I just cast across them now Pecker.

Anybody can cast across the Lehigh with a 9wt and a 450 grain, Fredrick.

Bring it little man! ;-)
