Lehigh R. Carbon Co. July 14, 2019

Took the bike for a spin downstream at Rockport afterwork tonite. Water is absolutely perfect level and around 66 F. Not much insect activity to note. A #14 Royal Wulff accounted for 2 nice browns and rose a 3rd. Did see a few others rising, for what I do not know as there were no bugs of note. Ants, Beetles or the like is my guess. Fish are at bit edgy and you will only get one shot at them.

Good luck to those of you venturing out this weekend and next week. Wifey and I are heading off on vacation.

Thanks for the info, Joe. I almost took a ride yesterday, but stayed in the Lehigh Valley. I will message you if I get a hankering to head up soon.

My report is almost identical to Tigereye. Lots of bugs (mostly spinners) in the air but no consistent hatching bringing pods of trout to surface. Fished til dark.

Ended up catching 2 nice browns (stocked), 1 SMB, and 2 ea 6-7" brookies. Browns and SMB caught on streamers/soft hackle. Brookies caught on 16 sulphur dry. Actually spotted the brookies rising prior to tying on a dry.

Water temp 65 around Rockport. Water level great for wading but still not an easy wade.

Anyone been out? A buddy was biking the gorge saturday and said he saw active fish, also said the water felt like it was low 60s but no temp taken. I'll be out saturday at long last
