Lehigh, Carbon, 5/7/24

Fished Rockport from about 12-6. Think the flow was <400 on USGS this morning. Mostly browns, a few bows, and 2 brookies. Fished seams in the riffles with a Stonefly and Caddis emerger tandem. Most fish took the stone. Not a lot of bugs flying around, a few Caddis and Olives. No surface action seen at all.

Really? Was it on those very warm days? Thats too high for this time of year. Looks like a rainier/cooler more seasonal pattern is moving in starting this weekend.

I'm off to fish tomorrow, was planning on floating. Nixed that with the rain coming, debating on if its worth it to still venture up there and wade fish tomorrow...

I only have one float trip in so far this year and with the weather being all over the place i have absolutely no feel for the river. Hendricksons must be over, MBs are likely past peak if not over. What are you guys seeing?

I was on the river from Bowmanstown to Gap on Tuesday and there were sulfurs coming off intermittently all afternoon. A few fish working them sporadically.
I was a little surprised to see that since it was full sun and pretty warm.
A little more action right before dark.

They could have been MBs. They will hatch sporadically all day like that

Do any of you guys know anyone who would interested in shuttling vehicles on the Lehigh for some extra cash? I'd love to find someone rather than driving 2 vehicles when doing a float trip. Feel free to PM, etc

Use Uber.

Although, I had trouble with one who could not figure out how to get to the Gap launch.

I thought about Uber but recalled a story about the Gap where the car was up on the bridge, must have been you, lol

I was thinking you could probably get an uber to pick you up at Treichlers pretty easily and drive you back to wherever you launched from

I always forget you can schedule rides ahead of time too and communicate with the driver to make sure they know whats up...

Yeah, that was me! That was just one incident. I made the mistake of just using the location feature to pick me up at a launch that is below a bridge. I get how that confused them.

this too is my biggest issue. I like the uber idea.
