Wanted to fish either the Little J or head all the way up to Penn's but I was hearing they were on the high side or in the case of the 'J' not much coming off so I decided to fish Laurel Hill creek down over the hill off of May Road again. Fished upstream for about a mile or so from 8:30am until about 2pm. Water level was on the lower side but not too low which would have made wading easy had it not been for someone spreading WD40 on all of the rocks! ;-) Dang, that purple moss was slick!
All that aside, I hit the usual nice pools and only picked up a few rainbows all pretty small. As I moved upstream further I started picking up some 'bows in the 12 -14 inch range. I picked up the first few on a streamer but the rest, maybe about ten all were caught on a size 14 flashback beadhead pheasant tail.
There were some fish sipping something off the top. Couldn't tell what they were taking but I threw 4 different dries at them of various sizes and colors but they weren't interested so I wen back to the pheasant tail.
A little windy at times but mostly a great day to be out on the stream.
