A fun fishing trip for me today...... but no pix! I was locked in a time warp, and didn't have time to take any pix.

Water is finally cooling a bit. The Royal Coachman is a small dry fly with flashy colors to attract the abundant gills.

I was picking up a few things today at WalMart, and I always check out the fishing section. I saw some "Royal Coachman" flies. Size 14, probably tied in China, 2 flies for $1.98, LOL, but it was like a flashback in time for me!

So many years ago, that was the fly I remember..... that fly started my fly fishing?

I caught a bunch of bluegills before the storm hit with my 3wt and a 6X.

The 'gills wouldn't hit the Royal Coachman as good as my regular micro buggers, but it was a wonderful experience for me.

God bless the Bluegill!

Gills rule! I agree, but sorry about your "flashback" and "timewarp." It sounds like you had a great time anyway. 🙂

I was bailin' them again today with my fly rod. Top water Royal Coachmans and small BH Copper Johns were magic today.

Beautiful day, cloudy, and fish on the prowl all afternoon. 3wt with floating line.

Couple pix from today, Sun Sept 2:

TimMurphy,

I thought that I would see you today with your float tube? I hope you got my PM's?
26 miles of shoreline, and again I was the only guy with a fly rod.
