I'm having pretty good success with the bluegills, perch, bass, and crappie.
In the daytime hours, the fish seem to stay near the bottom, 30' or deeper (great for UL spin), but at twilight the fish swim near the surface (fly rod delight).
A hatch almost every night, BWO's and Midges, and the small bluegills congregate on top to sip the small nymphs.
The water is cooling a bit...... thank God, but I didn't have a temp tester.
I used a 3wt again with floating line. I caught a few on small sponge spiders, small dries, and small poppers, but I had best success with a nose hooked 3/4" Powerbait Wiggler on a small Scud hook.
I've been using a float tube because of all the thick weeds along the shoreline.
Great fun until the trout, fall stock, is here?
