Lackawanna River - Lackawanna County - 09 17 18

Managed to get some fishing time this morning and got this guy from the Lackawanna. Always excites me to bring one one of these little guys to hand. Gives me more faith that the river is continuing to recover and the trout are reproducing.
Also managed to miss a couple more and to land this guys bigger brother.
Looking forward to my next opportunity.

Nice but please wet your hand when handling fish.

Was it hooked under the jaw? I hope you were using a barbless hook. That little guy is so small that removing a barbed hook could cause be hard on the trout.

Yeah....that's why I cut the bends off all my hooks. It's pre humane that way. It also significantly increases the number of fish I "land".

I use barbless hooks or mash the barb. Quick flip and it was off.
