I fished the Lackawanna River for the first time yesterday. I stopped at the bowling alley in south side of Scranton. Someone has a little ladder setup so you can get over the wall there which I found sketchy but being brave I went for it. It's a pretty interesting section back there I don't know how deep it actually is but looked pretty deep in there. I fished it for about 2 hrs but didn't manage to hook up with anything..... Tried some heavier bead nymphs I had tied to get them down in there. I'll go back another time and give it a go. I definitely want to check out other areas of the Lackawanna.

That is definitely a body of water that piques my interest. I would like to head out there and give it a whirl. It sounds like most people don't do all that well there.

While I have had a couple numbers days, and was surprised to see a few 10 inchers on the line those days, the Lack in my limited experience has been a quality not quantity endeavor, including at least one in recent years pushing 20 inches. That water is pretty cold right now, likely even near the "secret" discharges, so things are going to be tough in NEPA this time of year regardless. Add the post-spawn to that, which may put the larger fish on pause for a while, and you should stick with your plan of giving it another shot in another season!

I will definitely be back maybe spring and put some time in....thanks for the replies!
