Fished the Lackawanna for the first time today. To say the least it was humbling experience . The past month I’ve hit Penns new sections of the little Lehigh and a few other streams and have had great days. Today I caught three fish around 10 inches. Seem like a lot of fishless runs that should of held fish. I did see two very large brown chasing each other but spooked them after watching for a minute. Covered 4 miles of water today between a&g fly shop. Guys there said the river is lower then average. I’ll be back once flows pick up.

marcq: That's not a bad outing. The Lack is fickle. I fished it a few weeks ago and had a few nice browns chace my streamer. They should be aggressive now and spawning soon.

FWIW, it may be best to leave them be until Thanksgiving if they've started spawning. Even then, wade carefully to avoid redds.

I've never done well fishing the Lack at these low levels. Try going back when its flowing around 150cfs.

Yeah, 150cfs is perfect. As a rule of thumb, try to fish it in the "100's. In other words, don't fish it too much below 100 or too much above 200. Plus the brownies will begin spawning in the coming weeks.
