On a hunch I tried the inlet stream to Kooser lake. My sister wanted to go fishing and I wanted to try out my new bamboo rod....So I wasn't fishing hardcore just a leisurly few hours on the h20. Well the fish were there which was a nice surprise. I missed 4 or 5 on a floating ant mostly due to the new rod (yah right). Annoyed them awile at the mouth of the lake, probably ten of them laying there. Finally switched to an olive conehead buggar and landed a foot long (stocked) brook. Cashed in my winnings and went home. I have been looking for new water in the Laural Highlands and this one goes into the good catagory.

I've always like Kooser, Ryan. The lake is actually as fun to fish as the creeks. It stays pretty cold thru much of the summer. Its very clear and the trout can be spooky but will take dries pretty regularly. The bonus at Kooser, if you can see them, are the Pike. I'm kind of surprised that there was enough water in the creek to hold fish. I guess thats another plus.

Kooser Run fishes through the summer. I caught a brown there last July. Hadn't thought to try the lake, thanks Tom!
