Fished kish creek on Friday 7/16 the temp was 66,I fished from 05:30 till 10:00 hooked between 15&20 fish landed 14 of them. The bigest was about 18". I was fishing green and tan walts worms. useing very little weight and a12' leader.

Has any one else been doing any good on kish this time of year? or how many members fish kish?

I fish Kish often, but haven't in the past couple weeks because of air temps and vacations.

Sounds like a typical outing of mine.

MKern,

I see that you live in Lewistown and I live in Yeagertown we should get together and do some fishing together. Who knows we may have run into each other on the stream and not know it.I have been fishing kish for about 38 years now.I just have a short walk down over the hill and I'm on kish creek.

Yeagertown is my favorite section, from Verizon up.

MKern,

Don't over look the water down stream from Verizon. From Verizon all the way down to the walnut street bridge is good water. Two of my bigest trout came out of the standard dam.

There use to a bunch of us that fish the dam alot back in early 80's and 90's.We were called the boring mill gang. Friends and I caught some big fish back in the day out of that dam.

I just love the pockets from Verizon up; it's my kind of water.

I've never fished by Standard, but have heard good things.

Have you ever fish the tribs to Kish (besides Honey and Tea)? Most of them have high populations of wilds and practically never get fished. They do turn me off because how close they are to houses and yards.

MKern,

Do you mean Treaster,Havice and New Lancaster valley runs?
I do fish Treaster and New Lancaster runs, not so much on Havice.

A friend has Coffee run running through his ground I fish that some times but not alot 5 to 6 times a year.

As for the west branch of kish it gets low and warm. Plus I know of 2 or 3 fishing clubs on the west branch, the clubs stock the heck out of it in the spring with big breeders. A couple of guys I work with are members of these clubs. I have fished some of the club waters with them. Real nice water riffs, runs and pockets.Too bad it gets low and warm it would be agreat little fishery.

Please review the forum stickies that explain how to title a Stream Report and the type of information that others will find helpful.

If you can identify the County, I will finish editing your thread title.

Also, the correct stream name, rather than a nickname is prefered, although I suppose most people know this stream as the "Kish," so in this case, it probably isn't as significant. Same thing for the "Yough."

Kishacoquillas creek, Mifflin county,Pa.

Is that better.

I'll let you decide whether it is "better," but it now is correct and in conformity with the very simple and straightforward format requested by the board owner. Thanks for not getting huffy and all.
