Weather: Sunny clear 75 to 80 F.
Water Level: Running very high but clear
Water Temp: 48 to 51 F.

Hatches: tan caddis all day some small may flies and i am not sure but I think Trico. very small white flies in the air. an occasional large stonefly

I fished mostly the special reg areas.
The stream was very high but surprisingly clear.
Flow was very strong in most places.
There was no surface activity.
In three days I had no hook ups.

Using streamers, nymphs, woolybuggers caddis emergers and wets
stone fly nymphs u name it I tried it nothing would get a look.

Others I spoke to did not fare well either

At least you fished. I was up at cross fork oct 1&2 and didn't even wet a line. We backpacked through hammersley. it was so cold and rainy the last thing i wanted to do at the end of a long hike was leave the fire to go stand in a freezing cold stream.

Steve,

Had the same experience. Fished from the upstream 1/2 mile or so of the 144 bridge and had the same results. A few chubs and a small brookie and that was it. Its very hard for me to believe that they stocked this section on Oct 5th.

I'm heading up to the 144 bridge in two weeks I hope i can at least hook up with something. Phil at the shop up there is helpful every fall I head up that way. Lady year I went in late November and caught a few little brownies.

Phil's a healful guy, what w/ his Gene Simmons hair due and everything! Love that shop. I always wanted to fish w/ him.
