Went up to Kettle Creek as I needed to wet a fly. The air temps had been cooling down over the last week and conditions look good for Kettle and even some of the wild trout streams in the area.
The weather was up in the upper 70's during the day and lower 50's at night. A passing shower hit us the first day, but mixed clouds following that. The water was clear even after the heavy rain. Temps ranged from low 60's in the morning to 67 in the evening.
No bugs during the middle of the day, but we did see some light mayfly and yellow stoneflies at evening. I didn't see nay caddis, but heard they were out. The evening seemed to be better suited for nymphing. When we did go up into the smaller waters larger #16 cahill and adams seemed get the attention of the wild brook trout.
A nice few days with Maurice running around in the mountains, camping, fishing and taking photographs. Of course we made it to Debs and Kettle Creek Fly Fishing Shop.
