I was late arriving due to an issue at home so I had very little time to fish. The stream was high but fishable. I picked an area where the water was fairly slow and fished a streamer. It was soft water that would hold some trout. I had 1 strike and 2 misses, no hookups.

Lots of insects, many different kinds of insects. Trout were mostly taking maroon body flies. I caught 5 browns on dries. Didn’t get the water temp.

A guy in our group saw an otter

A heavy rain came through around 4pm with lots of lightening. One bolt hit within 100 yds of our location. Once the Rain subsided, it was very cloudy streamer water. The browns were really working in these conditions. I caught 9 browns on streamers. I probably had 25 strikes.

I saw a bear every day. The only photo opportunity I missed was a bear swimming the creek while a guy had a nice trout on. The bear was about 15 yards above the angler. He was unfazed when I talked to him later.

Actually I’m sorry that I didn’t supply all of the data points and photos like I usually do.
It was a combination of being pressed for time and insect activity not being up to par due to low stream temps.

My next trip will be better documented.
You have set the bar high for stream reports on here, no apology needed.
As mentioned by others, I always appreciate your reports and pix. They put me on the stream along side you every time!
