Kettle Creek was a little busy on Friday morning. They had stocked Kettle Creek a few days ealier. Leidy was really jammed up and couldn't barely find a parking spot. . looked like opening day. Busy along most of 144 on the way to Fly Fishing Project. Don't people have jobs? 🙂

The project not as busy. Water and weather conditions were great. Air temps in the upper 50's and water about the same. No hatches in the morning. Water was at about 150 CFS.

We had some luck bring a few up on March Brown Dry flies and going underneath with BWO emerger nymph. Still didn't see a lot of action from anyone.

Three of us headed up to Kettle, Friday morning. We stopped and hit Wycoff Run on the way and caught a bunch of wild brookies.
Friday night, we picked up a few heavy fish on Kettle, about half way from the dam to the lower camping area, all on March Browns.
Saturday we fished Cross Forks in the morning, went way back in and caught a few brookies. The lower section of Cross Forks Creek, just before Kettle was full of trout, some huge, but we couldn't get a one to bite. A guy across the creek was picking them off and before we left, asked him what he was using. Red san juan worms!
Saturday night there was a tremendous March Brown spinner fall, but most didn't hit the water until after dark. I picked up a nice brown about 17" and a decent brookie.
Sunday we hit Wycoff Run again on our way home and caught more native brookies and a couple of stockers.
All in all, fishing wasn't terribly good, numbers wise, but we still had a wonderful weekend.
