Kettle CK FFO , Potter County, 10/8/25

Just checked the USGS gauge at on Kettle Ck just a short distance below Cross Fork. Giving the flow situation a little context, at least at this specific point in time vs last year, flow for 10/19/25 is almost exactly 10% of what it was on 10/19/24. Right now it’s about 12 cfs. For those not familiar with the stream, the Kettle gauge is downstream from the mouth of Cross Fork Ck by perhaps 0.5 mi. Cross Fork Ck confluence is about a mile below the Kettle FFO area. This means that the flow is even lower in the FFO stretch of Kettle.

Good fishing levels are around 200 to 300 cfs.

It fished great at 45-55 cfs last year in early November. Stocked trout from the spring were well spread out and quite willing to hit minnows.
