I put my kayak in at Mifflin town access and fished upstream about a half mile. Fished from 11 to 2, sunny and warm. Heavy thunderstorms just after I quit.

Damsel flies everywhere and lots of bass jumping.Caught 3 bass in the 14 inch range and lost another decent one. Also, caught 15 or so in the 8 to 11 inch range. All fish were caught top water, most on a lime green popper.

This was my first time fishing here, flow was stronger than I would have liked, but water level was dropping and seemed to be clearing.

All in all a nice day.

Good to hear.

Bet you'll be back to the "J." 🙂

It fishes best when the Newport gage is under 4 feet.

As I said it was a good day. The gage was at 4.5 when I was there, that extra flow made it a little more difficult to hit the spots I wanted to, but I am a novice kayak angler. Hope to get back soon.
