Well, I finally got to do a float on the river. This is the first this year for me due to family health issues. I was more that ready to go. Took the toon up to Thompsontown Access and dropped it off then drove down to Millerstown to meet my wife and do the shuttle. Got everything(I thought) out of her car and she left. I put the toon in the water and put the rod together and NO CHEST PACK, no flies, no tippet, no nippers, no nothing. Call the wife, she will not answer the cell phone while driving (as it should be). She gets back to Newport but doesn't check the phone. Well, I floated from Thompsontown to Millerstown using one fly that was already on the rod. At least it was a crayfish pattern. I caught 8 bass, most were 7-10" and one 15". The worst part of the float was that the wind was blowing upriver so I had to row most of the trip down to my car. I did spook lots of bass as the river is low and clear. All in all it was good to get out and I learned a valuable lesson. I started at 2Pm and quit at dark.
