Managed about an hour and a half on the lower Juniata River this afternoon. Weather: blue bird skies, calm, with temp in mid 40s. Water: high and muddy (5.2' at the Newport gage) with visibility of only about a foot. Water temp was 45 degrees. I spent most of the time carefully working a shoreline eddy that I like for pre-spawn fishing. Crawled a black Clouser right across the bottom and managed a couple nice bass at 14" and 17 inches. Had hoped to get a walleye with the dirty water but no luck. Also tried a favorite spot on the Susky on the way home but this didn't produce.

With water temps still in the 40s bass are still hitting in the rivers although I'd suggest looking for areas with as close to zero current as you can find. Fish low and very slow

Anyway, it was nice to get out on a beautiful day in December and fight a couple nice smallies.
