Fished the upper juniata and it was incredible. It was the first 50+ day of the year. With the lower water temps they were eating like crazy even in the bruttle wind. Perch clouser was incredible. Biggest 16, the younger dude's were beating the big fish to the fly. After getting beat up on the susquehanna on more than one occassion this was a very pleasant day regardless of the wind. Smallies were colored up very well.

J-man,
Great report to hear. I'm hoping the recent cooler temps will turnaround what has been, at least for me, a disappointing smallie season.

What was the date when you fished the Juniata?

Are there any more-wadable areas than Thompsontown stretch?
With no watercraft, the WWmMini-Jam was frustrating.

The mifflin or mifflintown accesses have wadeable stretches. Anywhere from the Petersburg Dam to thompsontown has smallies. Below that I have not checked out all of the areas. From the spots I did check the results were better than last year.
