Stream: Jordan Creek, Orefield/Trexler Nature Preserve
Date: April 18, 2026
Start time: 5pm
End time: 8pm
Water conditions: very clear, normal levels on the low side.

Comments: Water was very low and clear under the bridge with a slight tint down through the riffles around the bend. Key flies ended up being sz16 hares, sz 16 Derko (emerger pattern) and a size 18 parachute adams. I managed 6 in the net while my brother in law netted 7.

Little Lehigh Creek, Allentown; Kecks Bridge to Middle Parking lot
Date: April 19, 2026
Start time: 2:30pm
End time: 6:30pm
Water conditions: clear, normal levels on the low side.

Comments: Water was on the cooler side due to the morning rain and drop in air temperature; fish were very lethargic. My father in law managed to net six fishing a sz16 zebra midge. I netted my first fish on a zebra nearly a mile into the walk down stream my second came on a sz16 pink Cadillac. It was a very tough outing.IMG_9645.jpegIMG_9641.jpegIMG_9646.jpeg
Thanks,

Derko

Yo Derko - tell us more about the Derko emergers.
Sure!

I use rusty brown thread and gold wire on a jig hook with some pheasant tail ice dub and sometimes some UV resin.

I will fish this as a tag fly mostly if I'm running a double nymph or as the dropper with a non beaded hares/walts/Zebra.
