Jordan Ck, Whitehall Twsp, Lehigh Co. 6/8/12

Water somewhat high and only the slightest bit off-color. Water temp low to mid-60's. Excellent conditions. Fished the County Park located between Mauch Chunk Rd and Mickley Rd. Caught 8 RT, 1 BT, lost 1 RT all on nymphs w/o indicator. Fish hit on Prince, SJ worm, and Al's Rat. Plenty of fish around. A worm/minnow angler had 5 when I saw him...no other anglers. The stream gets very warm so this good fishing won't last long. No need to fish stocked special reg waters at the moment.

Any sulphurs?

Can't comment specifically on Jordan, but other nearby streams have very limited amount of sulphurs coming off. Fished LL last week, and saw few here and there. I did land native BT at dark on dry sulphur, had hard time seeing my fly, just went by sound and take in water where I think my fly was floating..

Was it a "native" BT (brown) or a native BT (brook)? haha

Yea I been fishing the sulphurs on other streams for a while now...doesn't seem like the best of years for that hatch or maybe they've been spread out with this weird weather year.

Caught some sulphur hatches, earlier in the season on the Jordan that got pretty silly...this was during a normal year where the spring creeks were still cold and the wild trout weren't looking up yet. I guess this year is polar opposite so the hatch was probably over in March on the Jordan haha

Have not seen any sulphurs on the Jordan this year, but I was not on the stream in the May period this year when they have typically been most abundant in years past.

Fished the Jordan in roughly the same location on 6/9 as described above for 6/8 and had the same results. Caught 10, lost 3 in 3 hrs, fishing from 1-4 PM this time instead of in the AM shift fished on 6/8. This time they hit the PT with a SJ worm trailer. Seven trout took the SJ worm; three took the PT.

Only saw one fish rise each day.

I fished this area from Jordan Park (where the softball fields are) to the LVC garden plots (the frisbie golf area) on 6/11 with no luck. I was using size 16 prince nymphs and hares ears. No fish rising, no hatches, nothing. Saw a couple other anglers out there with no luck as well. Just wondering if ya'll were fishing farther down from the garden plots or if i just missed some of the better spots in that area.

I started about 300 yds downstream from the foot bridge at the garden plots and worked my way down from there.

In response to the Sulphurs, I think they were pretty early this year and have already started to end. I fished the little lehigh about this time last month, and hit a really good hatch, fish everywhere. I would think by now it has dwindled.
