Fished muskrat, BH Prince, and San Juan worm for 3 hr 40 min in drizzle and heavy rain. Fish really turned on once the rain got heavy and started to wash some fine vegetative debris into the water, which up until that point had been gin clear. It remained clear, but had a slight tinge of turbidity during the heavy rain, which apparently made the conditions about perfect. Caught 12 mixed RT and BT, lost 3 others and rolled 3 in 0.5 mi of stream length. Water temp seemed to be only slightly cooler than the air temp, so I suspect it was 58 or 59F. Jordan Ck 60F or less during the last wk of May? I’ll take it! Adding to the afternoon were two close bald eagles, a pileated woodpecker in a tree behind me, and no other anglers seen until the end of my outing.
