Fished from 9:30-11:15 AM. Air: 50F, H2O: 50F. Nymphed with Prince Nymph and Al’s Rat. Caught 6, lost 3, rolled 3...all RT. Kept 4. Water gin-clear. Stomachs all contained green caddis nymph (Hydropsychidae) and “turtle shell” shaped gravel caddis cases with nymphs inside (Glossosomatidae). Also retrieved someone’s unused, cream colored power bait worm from one stomach. Must have dropped it in the water.

Interesting find in the stomachs. I never keep fish nor stomach pump so hearing about your findings is nice.
What nymphs got eaten the most? I love both the Al's Rat and the prince. I'm leaning towards the prince doing better this time of year, but what say you, Mike?
It was 50/50 on those two. When I combined Al’s Rat with a black ant fished underneath on Sat evening, the rat was the hands down winner. I also had a lot get off in the fast water on Saturday eve and they were most likely rat hook-ups as the larger hook on the ant has been good at holding fish in the past.
I hear you. Small patterns are very effective but once you get to a certain size of small hook getting good hook ups is difficult. Good to hear.
