Jacob's Creek via SGL 296?

Just wondering if anyone's either tried this approach or been to this section before to give me some tips. I've been trying to target smaller streams and this is the closest stream to where I'm currently living and I'd like to approach it if possible to get some practice this spring. I'm thinking of taking that green highlighted trail up and then finding a way to the creek in the red-circled area. I'll report back with what I find unless someone here thinks I'm wasting my time with this section

Never fished it, but from looking at the maps, and wanting to stay on public land the whole time, that’s the approach I’d take. FWIW.

I fished Jacob’s Creek from its mouth up maybe a few hundred yards about 35 years ago. Lots of white bass, rock bass, suckers but no trout. I would be careful in turkey season as there’s lots of hunters out. It’s pretty remote.

Thought about it, but stockies. Stretch running along the TPike looks like nice water though.

The stocked parts are put and take and receive a lot of pressure.

Jacob’s Creek empties into the Youghigheny in the Smithton area. A local sportsman club used to stock trout in that area. However, I don’t think the creek would be conducive to trout reproduction. If I recall, there is a waterfall trout would have to overcome to get farther up creek.

I've seen guys fishing the area below Scottdale. there was an OLD bridge that i believe may have been replaced. Know nothing bout it other than that. My father in law, who lived in Scottdale fished it but he was mostly a warm water fisherman unless we were up at camp. I say explore.
