Interesting theory about the decline in striper population

I read that earlier today. While Im still not convinced that climate change is the boogieman for all things environmental, i do believe over fishing (menhaden/peanut bunker and stripers specifically) plus invasive catfish in spawning areas have definitely left a mark.

I'm thinking a lot of the big "cow" stripers are being harvested as well, putting a strain on reproduction. Just my opinion, I have no data to back that up.
 
Around here, it seems like a moratorium on rockfish falls right after a blue crab boom and a couple years of not catching rockfish leads to a blue crab bust. Rockfish and blue crab populations in the Chesapeake Bay seem to be codependent and have nothing to do with climate.
