Spent some time Sunday on Dunbar Creek. Very low, but still 62˚. We did find a hole with some stocked fish, but they weren’t interested in anything we threw at them. It was encouraging to fish with my uncle, a long time fly fisherman, and see him get the same results as I did. It was just great to be out there in the water. We did get some to rise and put a nose to the fly before settling back down, and that was almost as much fun as hooking up. I got a lot of practice on roll casting as well, so it was a win all around in my book!

in the spring: too much rain, we need less.
in the fall: not enough rain, we need more.

this is the pattern that happens most years.

I do not say this to criticize or poke fun, but as a reminder that we as humans tend to see at things at a very short timescale.

I completely agree! Except when I go fishing, I want it right now <jumping up and down stomping feet>

You could try fishing larger streams that have more flow during low water periods like this......
Dunbar is one that gets very little water, even for the size of the shed. I have not been there in many years for this reason. Also, the gun range is pretty loud.

The range wasn’t too bad when we were there, although I suspect a lot of them were home watching the Stillers. It’s all new areas to me, so I’m still enjoying the exploring aspect of it all
